Pecan Pie for Thanksgiving: the complete recipe

Find out how to prepare this typical American cake made with shortcrust pastry, maple syrup and pecans. We used the Optima cardboard baking mold with rolled edge.

Ingredients:

  • 10 oz of shortcrust pastry
  • 1 egg
  • 2 oz of maple syrup
  • 1.5 oz of brown sugar
  • 1 oz of butter
  • 2 oz of chopped pecans
  • 2 oz of whole pecans

Preparation:

  • Pre-heat the oven to 180 degrees. Roll out the shortcrust pastry on a floured pastry board, then place it in the cake mold.
  • Prepare the filling. Mix the maple syrup and brown sugar. Add the egg and melted butter. Stir until you get a cream. Also combine the chopped pecans and keep stirring.
  • When the cream is well blended, pour it over the shortcrust pastry base. Decorate the surface with whole pecans.
  • Bake the cake in a static oven for 50 minutes. Remove the pecan pie from the oven and let it cool before serving.
